Feature overview

Feature ObdTuner ObdTunerPro
Fuel mode can be switched to speed density for real boost aware fuel control. This is necessary for engines with a supercharger or turbo installed. x x
Maximum supported boost above atmospheric. 2.0bar 4.0bar
Scalable boost range for making maximum use of the table resolution. x x
Full 16 bits fuel table, so no compromises between cruising and full power. For more information on why this is important have a look at the background information page. x x
Maximum supported rpm, all tables are extended to this rpm. 7800 8500
Supported throttle bodies. L61 (OEM)
LE5 (65mm)
LSJ (68mm)
L61 (OEM)
LE5 (65mm)
LSJ (68mm)
LS4 (77mm)
A wide range of injectors is supported from 250cc/min (OEM) up to 860cc/min. (For the exact brand and types have a look at the software manual.) x x
No need for an expensive interface, a simple OBD II interface based on an ELM327 will do. x x
All calibration tables can be changed with a running engine (live programming). x x
Changes can be made permanent through in-ECU flash programming. x x
Possibility to disable the Exhaust Gas Recycle valve (EGR) so no EGR cheater necessary. For more information on why this is important have a look at the background information page. x x
Possibility to disable the misfire control check for engines over 250 hp or when using traction control. x x
Possibility to disable the catalytic converter check. x x
Error code reading including freeze frame data and long term ECU monitors. x x
Automatic fuel table learning while driving. This includes driver feedback through malfunction indication light. No PC or laptop required while driving. x x
Automatic ignition table correction for knock retard while driving. This includes driver feedback through malfunction indication light. No PC or laptop required while driving. x x
Build in software for measuring engine power and torque with consistent and repeatable measurements. A reference power measurement can be selected for easy comparison. x x
Exhaust gas recycle valve (EGR) input can be used for other purposes like wide band lambda reading. Data is visible in the log file and power measurement graph. x x
Extended logging is available. All parameters are logged at once (snap shot) to preserve the relation between the measured data. A new snapshot is taken 3 times per second. The logged data is displayed in two graphs for easy comparison. x x
When live programming is active, cross-hairs will be displayed on the cells being used by the ECU, this makes live adjustments very easy. x x
All data like maps, settings, logs and power measurements etc. are stored in one file and can be commented, mailed etc. x x
Data from a calibration file can be uploaded to the ECU without making it permanent. This can be very handy for quick testing, and can be made permanent afterwards. x x
Dual calibration switch mode. Calibration is selectable while driving the car using a switch. x
Dual calibration interpolation mode. Calibration is selectable using a dial with full interpolation between both calibrations. For instance this can be used to use an alcohol sensor for real bi fuel operation. Or a dial which let you seemless select inbetween a rain and dry calibration etc. x
Wideband fuel control. This includes checking the wideband sensor and controller when driving the car. (Error codes and MIL will be set when there is a problem detected.) x
Free programmable closed loop / open loop switching points. x
Start and warm-up tables are fully programmable for real E85 support. x
In ECU engine crank/start logging possibility. The ECU will keep logging internally when the engine is started. In most cases the battery voltage is dropped during starting which will stop the OBD interface and just makes you miss the interesting part. Especially useful when tuning starting under cold conditions for fuels like E85. x
Programmable maximum boost limit. MIL will be enabled and ignition can be retarded when limit is overstepped. x
Free to use EGR output. EGR output has its own MAP/RPM based table and programmable coolant and inlet temperature corrections. For instance this can be used to control a water injection system. x
Catalyst warming up mode can be disabled, this improves warming up behaviour when fast cams are installed. x
Tank ventilation system can be disabled so when the tank ventilation system is removed the ECU will not compensate for this any more. This gives better throttle response should the tank ventilation system being removed. x
OEM second lambda can be disabled and second lambda sensor may be removed. x
Programmable coolant and inlet temperature depending ignition corrections. x
Programmable knock control. x
Programmable end reduction and gears. x
OEM engine protection systems can be disabled. Most OEM ECU's have algorithms to protect the engine when full throttle is given for a long time. With an engine with stronger internals this is not always desirable and can therefore be disabled. It is possible to have the OEM protection active in one calibration and not active in the other calibration. x
More idle control for non OEM camshafts. x
Coast-down ignition and fuel control for better turbo response. x
Possibility to import ObdTuner calibrations for easy upgrade to ObdTunerPro. x
